Kaufman Center - Day 11

Today I sat up big and tall in the swing, while I got ready for today's session.

I sat up big in the chair too and I looked around!! I have been much more alert in general.

I ate up all my lunch very quickly. I have been super hungry lately too.

Jessica is wrapped with how my eating is coming along. I am doing so well that today I had frozen fruits on little forks to try. I had frozen strawberries and bananas and some yummy frozen blueberries. I liked the blue berries so much that I ate four of them and chewed them up with my back teeth!! I even put them in my own mouth!

Jessica even thinks that I am not too far off sucking from a straw and we have been working on drinking this way a little bit.

We are working on so many new things right now. This is apple sauce in a squeeze pack. It is something I could perhaps feed myself. It is easy for me to grab on to and I can squeeze it. I liked it so much that I was happy to try to put it in my mouth.

I made a nice "mm" shape with my lips on the recorder too.

I didn't want any part of popping bubbles with my lips today though, and I let Jess know by pushing her hand away from me.

I finished off the hour in the swing. This was such a great day for me. Jessica told Mummy that speech is a real possibility for me for me now! At the very least single words! This is something that Mummy never dared dream was possible. One day I might be able to say Mummy, Daddy or Corey!

HBOT (Block 3) Sessions 27 and 28

I slept for Daddy just about all the way through. I have been a bit cranky on and off. Not sure if I might be getting new teeth though, or if I am exceptionally hungry. It could be either. HBOT is really great for cuddles and one on one time. I go in in the mornings with Daddy and the afternoons with Mummy. I am starting to vocalise after I come out after my session. This has taken lots longer than my previous sessions. The dirty nappies are still constant too.

Kaufman Center - Day 10

I love the swing first up in the session. It is so relaxing and good for helping me get ready to process new information.

Jessica is having me take small chunks of banana off a little fork. She is putting it right to the back of my teeth and having me give it a big chew

I listen to some sensory intergration music, and I am chewing on a celery stick all on my own!

I took some ok sips from the straw too. It is a special one way straw that won't let the water slip back down. It means less effort for me to learn to suck.

I am working a lot on lip movement too. By letting the bubble pop on my mouth, my lips make a nice "m" shape and my tongue automatically draws back into my mouth.

It is Monday though, and I am a bit cranky. There was not much else I wanted to do for this session.
I spent the rest of the session in the swing with a chewy tube

TheraSuit September 2013 - Day 11

Mondays are hard. After a weekend of no hard work, getting back to work takes some getting used to.

This week Nico is using the arnica oil again instead of the acupuncture. So we are back to more deep massage and stretching.

The reciprocal leg movements are hard and a little bit jerky this morning. There is 6 kgs on each leg.

Some more glute exercises were on the agenda today too. There were 5 kgs of weights that I had  to work with and pulling them straight down (in line with my feet) is super hard. Much harder than pulling them from behind my head like I was doing.

The vibration exercises still make me cry. My left hand is more open than it has been though and Mummy just has to open my pinky from my fist and my hand will open flat. I don't fight it as much.

I am doing weight transferance exercises too. I am lifting each leg up one at a time and putting all my weight on one leg, then switching.

Nico is helping me to use my right arm more. He is showing me that elbow propping and pushing up on my right arm will help me to sit up too. I only use my left arm for everything so this is a big sensory change for me.

We are still working on transitioning from a sitting to crawling position too.

I finished the day up with some walking. Okay steps with no support on my legs. There were a few jumps in there though, where I tried to step with both feet at the same time.

HBOT (Block 3) Sessions 25 and 26

I think I am finally starting to detox. I did 4 dirty nappies and very smelly today! This has taken a little longer than usual to kick in, but now that it seems to have happened, we will see what other changes might come through. I am getting to be a little noise maker when I come out of the chamber too ~ Mummy loves those sounds.

HBOT (Block 3) Sessions 23 and 24

Today we went to South Lyon (a bit further south of where we are staying) for HBOT. This morning I went in with Daddy and howled for a good chunk of the hour. I am starting to choose who I want to be with, so Mummy went in with me in the afternoon. That is what I wanted. I was happy for the hour and enjoyed a cuddle to start with, before moving down to the end of the chamber to play around.

TheraSuit September 2013 - Day 10

This is day ten of therasuit here in the USA. Nico is starting with the ETPS acupuncture to help loosen and activate my tight muscles. You can see in my face that this doesn't really bother me as much as it used to.

I am still doing some manual stretching before we move on to the really hard work though.
